About me

My name is Simeon, and I create music for artistic and cultural projects. My most recent work is producing the music for the performance Born for Nothing by Marieke Heerema, which premiered at Theater Kikker in 2026. In this production I collaborated closely with the director and choreographer to shape atmosphere, rhythm and dramaturgy in a performance where movement played a central role.

My work moves between different musical worlds. I create electronic soundscapes, beats and sound design, but I also compose more melodic and harmonically driven music influenced by classical and film traditions. I enjoy combining these approaches, often integrating acoustic elements such as voice, piano or guitar with electronic production.

In theatre and dance projects I approach music as part of the storytelling process. Rather than simply accompanying a scene, the music helps shape space, tension and movement. This often involves experimenting with sound textures, rhythm and silence in close dialogue with the performers and creators.

Alongside composing and producing, I also perform live electronic music using synthesizers and drum machines. These performances allow me to explore the same musical language in a more spontaneous way, building layered textures and rhythms in real time.
